I'm Victoria. Firstly, a big thank you for checking out The-She Shirt Shop. After leaving my career as a lawyer, I decided to create something to help spread a message very close to my heart: that women are amazing.
Growing up in a heavily female-dominated family, I was not short of female role models and I learnt from a young age that I could do whatever the hell I put my mind to; my gender was never an issue, let alone a barrier.
I, along with my (bad-ass feminist) boyfriend and our small team design, create and source high quality products for women of all ages that send a powerful and important message to the world: that women are equals and should be celebrated every.damn.day. We don't want to "man-bash"; that's not our style. Instead, we want to raise up every single woman to where she deserves to be, one she-shirt at a time.
We believe in giving back, so we donate 10% of profits to our chosen women's charities Woman's Trust and Days for Girls, helping to support and protect women both in the UK and around the world.
We are very proud to be working alongside both charities and supporting the valuable work they do.
Our charities for this year are:
Woman's Trust, who help give women the resources they need to prevent domestic violence damaging their futures. Their mission is to help women in London affected by domestic violence and abuse to overcome the mental and emotional harm and rebuild their lives. They provide women-only, client-led counselling and support services. (just in case you searched for 'womans trust' or 'woman s trust', this sentence should hopefully get you to the right page!)
We are also proud to announce that we have co-designed a range of charity She-Shirts with Woman's Trust. 50% of profits from sales of these t-shirts goes straight towards helping their valuable work.
Days for Girls, who work to increase access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating social enterprises, mobilising volunteers, and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigmas and limitations for women and girls.
During our time in Bali we have noticed how expensive sanitary products can be for women in developing countries, and how this - combined with taboos surrounding menstruation - can lead to women and girls missing work and school during their periods, leading to diminished vocational and educational opportunities.
Days for Girls aims to change that and create a world with dignity, health and opportunity for all, and so far their movement has reached more than one million girls — and counting! With your help, they can reach Every Girl. Everywhere. Period.
